I’ve Seen Things

When it comes to artificially engineered beings with super-human strength meeting their untimely end in the movies, there are two moments for me that come to mind. Arnie  in Terminator 2 with the molten lead and the thumb, and the death of Replicant Roy Batty in Blade Runner.

As he says to Deckard in his final soliloquy before his death: “I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time… like tears in rain… Time to die.”

This detailed design by Stephen Harris (aka Zomboy) pays homage to this scene using the hands of the Replicant holding the dove as he utters his final words as its point of reference.  It also features some other iconic references from the film in the form of the Tyrell Corporation logo and the infamous Origami Unicorn at the end of some Rosary beads.
